personal post - respect

hi everyone!! thank you for the support and the love i got on my last personal post. i've decided i'm going to continue with these, but do them once-a-month as a bonus post. i feel like they are a great thing to be able to look back on in a couple years as well as being a support to others.

something i have noticed lately is the lack of respect that people have. my ceramics teacher brought this up in class the other day, and i haven't been able to get it out of my head ever since. he was talking about how one of his students in another class had knocked a mug off a shelf in another class, and walked away from it afterwards. it happened to be a mug my teacher had made and had for over 30 years. i liked what he had said about the issue. "the mug being broken didn't upset me. accidents happen, and that is okay. even him not helping me clean it up didn't upset me. the thing that upset me the most is that he didn't say he was sorry. that showed me he didn't have any respect." i just can't get over the lack of respect. saying things as simple as "please", "thank you", and "i'm sorry" isn't that hard to do and it makes the biggest difference in a situation. now, there are going to be people that are going to say that the problem is the youth and that we are beyond disrespectful. 1 - not all teenagers are bad teenagers. i have seen some teenagers do some amazing things. for example, there was a teacher coming into the school the other day, with their hands full of stuff. two of my classmates ran out to help her. one held the door while another helped her carry in her things. there are good youth in the world, i promise. and 2 - i have met some adults that have zero respect as well. i was at a church party last night, and my friend and i were helping clean up one of the games. we had to rinse out a bucket that got dirty during the game. the kitchen sinks were all being occupied, and the sinks in the bathroom were too small for the bucket to fit inside. there is a sink in the mother's room that was pretty big, so my friend and i went in there. we walked in talking, but not loudly or obnoxiously. we turned the corner and there was a mother with her young child. (before i go into the story, i want to say that this is in no way, shape, or form to diss on parents. parents have a very difficult job and i completely understand that it gets very tiring and frusturating at times. i have had a ton of experience with children so i know first hand. parents are amazing people with a very important job!) i said "hi" to the mother, and put the pot in the sink. she immedietly said back "hi, can you get out". i pulled the pot out and my friend and i left the room. i was upset, but not because she asked us to leave. i get it, she had a sleeping baby, and the water along with the clinking of the sink and pan can wake the baby up. i was upset because she was so rude about it. she could have asked us to leave in a nicer tone and i would have not thought twice about it. after we had left, a mother walked in with her toddler to change her diaper. when she walked in, the mother had told her the same thing she had told us, along with "there are changing tables in the bathroom". the mother of the toddler was so upset she left the party. she was upset for the same reason i was, lack of respect. respect is something that isn't very hard to show, and something that everyone should have and use often. next time you are in a situation where you can show respect, even if it's as simple as a "thank you", "please", "sorry", or even just changing the tone in your voice, make sure you use it. it is so simple but yet so very important 💜.

review - haters back off!!

hi everyone and welcome to my blog!! i'm savannah and i do so many things on this blog. reviews, favorites, and much more!! if you feel like this blog is something you might be interested in, feel free to sign up for email alerts and follow all of our social medias here on the sidebar ------>.
haters back off is about the crazy life of miranda sings, a youtube star, (check out her channel here)  and her rise to "fame". this character was created and played by colleen ballinger.

(left, miranda sings. right, colleen ballinger)
read more about colleen here
check out colleen's channel here
read more about the show here
watch the show here
(from left to right, erik stocklin - patrick [miranda's best friend], angela kinsey -bethany [miranda's mother], colleen ballinger - miranda sings, francesca reale - emily [miranda's sister], and steve little -jim [miranda's uncle]).

i've been highly anticipating this show, even though i'm not the biggest miranda sings fan. i am a huge fan of colleen and did find the whole miranda idea super insane and i wanted to see more. i loved the book that her and her brother chris did, so i was excited to see this show!! i must say, i was incredibly surprised!! i didn't have super high hopes for this show. i thought it was going to be the same old, repetitive miranda we've seen for years. it totally wasn't!! the storyline and the characters in this show made it difficult to stop watching. (i'll be completely honest, i watched it in one sitting!!) colleen wasn't lying when she said we would fall in love with all of the characters! and may i say, miranda's sister, was totally not expecting that, but i loved her character so much! good job keeping it a surprise, colleen! and the storyline was constantly keeping us on our toes. what crazy thing is miranda going to do next? what crazy thing is uncle jim going to do to help her "rise to fame?" what is going to happen! i loved everything about the show except for the ending. i'm not going to spoil it, but it leaves you on a cliffhanger. i cannot stand when shows do that! especially if this show doesn't get renewed for a second season. (i have no doubt that it will, but i'm just saying, what if?) then you'll never know how it ends!!

rate - 9/10

thank you all for reading my review!! i hope i interested you in the show and that you check it out!! it is on netflix and only eight episodes, so you can totally binge it in one sitting like i did. please feel free to tweet me, @halseyxlilac, if you want to talk about the show!! and please check back next week for a new blog post!!

personal post - trials

hi everyone!! this blog post is going to be a bit different. i am going to talk about something that's been on my mind lately, and if you guys like these, i'll do them once a month or every-other one. now, lets go on with the post!

everybody has trials. they may be minor to the point where you barely notice them, and they may consume your whole life. everybody has them, they are apart of being a human being. i don't think i've ever had a point in my life where i've only had small trials. when i was a very young child, i went through things that no child, let alone a grown adult, should ever have to go through. (i'm going to say it now, this is a background story that i'm telling so you get an idea when i get to my main point. i'm not looking for attention or sympathy, i've already moved on and forgiven the person that put me through this, so this isn't to single them out either. just some background. thats it.) it messed with my mental state so much, i had to block it out of my mind to be able to function properly. i had gone through other things as i got older that didn't help my mental state either. now, i'm almost 16, and i have a variety of different mental disorders. it makes life a lot more challenging. there are days where i feel like i can't control my own mind. i can't feel joy, i can't keep my thoughts straight or the way i want them to be, i can't function unless things are perfect, i can't do anything, even the simplist tasks like walking from one class to another, without shaking from nervousness. i also am very sick. when i was younger, i got every crazy sickness under the sun and was in the hospital very often. i did very well until i was diagnosed with mono 2 years ago. since then, i've been crazy sick. we've done every blood test under the sun to try to find out what it is. we still have no idea. recently, i've had a cold for almost a month straight and finally getting better. i have said for years now that all i want to do is "be healed". i want to wake up one day and be "normal" again. trials are called trials for a reason. i had an amazing seminary teacher that was always so supportive and kind, and always knew what to say. he came up to me one day and said "savannah, you were given this trial because you were strong enough to handle it." in that moment, i looked at trials in a completely different way. i didn't see them as things that tore me down and made me weak, i saw them as strengths and achievements. right now, i'm going through things that suck. but i was given these trials because i can handle them. i am strong enough to concer them. trials i had in the past, hey, i got through those! and i am so much stronger now because i went through them. and as much as i hate the things i went through and are currently going through, they are molding me into the person i'm supposed to be. they were my trials, and now they are my achievements. and the things i am going through, those will eventually be achievements as well. i will get better, slowly, day by day. i will live everyday with these trials until then.

i wanted to share this because i want it to help somebody as much as it is helped me. everybody has trials, some small, and some huge, like mine. remember, hold on for just a little bit longer, and stay strong. things will get better. maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. but very very soon. keep your head up high 💜

britt nicole album review!

hi everyone and welcome to my blog!! if it is your first time here, let me introduce myself and my blog for a minute!! i am savannah and i write about several different things on here. mainly reviews. but i also write about my favorites and other beauty/music/clothing related things. all of you long-term britt nicole fans might remember me as britt nicole fan blog (feel free to read my old britt nicole blog here) that i wrote a couple of years ago. if you feel like this blog is something you might be interested in, please feel free to sign up for email alerts and follow us on all of our social medias on the sidebar here ------->.

i've been waiting since 2012 to finally be able to hear this, and thursday night i finally got to hear it!! and now, i get to tell all about this amazing album/artist!! i've been a fan of britt forever (since 2011 i think? don't quote me on it because i'm not 100% percent sure 😂) and she has been a huge inspiration to me throughout my life. britt's music has been there for me during the absolute hardest time of my life.  it is very inspirational (and not to mention great to dance to). i have a blog post coming out next friday that talks personally about my favorite artists, and britt is on it. if you want to know more about britt, you can check out her wiki page here, wait for my post next week, or check out my darling friend jaymie's blog (britt nicole glow) here!! now on with the review i've been itching to write for years!!

because i'm writing this on my phone,  (my internet crashed and i only have my 4G but i wanted to get this up asap!) i have to put any hyperlinks at the top of the page. so, if you want to check out britt's new album, click here to listen on spotify, or here to buy it on itunes.

now, on with the review!!
this is by far, my favorite of all 4 (not including the acoustic ep or the remix album) britt nicole albums. this is a perfect mix of every part of britt's life - songs about her husband (josh, her 2 children (ella and adin [aj]), having fun with her friends, and, what she is most famous for, her christian/inspirational songs. this album really shows who britt nicole is and what is most important to her. i think the title of the album is perfect. it really shows what the album is truly about.
1-through your eyes
"through your eyes" falls in the section 'christian' for me. it talks about how god is always there and the way you see yourself is completely different from the way he sees you. it is a beautiful, inspirational song and is very fitting not only as the first song on the album, but the first single as well.
2-all the money
"all the money" is my favorite song so far!! this one is about love, so it falls in the 'husband' category. one of my favorite lyrics in this song is "but a car can't kiss goodnight, and a diamond can't hold me tight" another one is "all the money in the world, couldn't buy what i see in you. all the money in the world couldn't buy what i love about you". this song is a beautiful love song that perfectly describes britt and josh's relationship. i love everything about this song, the lyrics, the beat, the true love you can feel josh and britt have, just. everything. i hope that one day, in my future relationship, that this song will be completely accurate for me.
3-better
this one is another one of my favorites. i would put it in the 'inspirational' category. i love the last lyric of this song "hey girl in the back of the classroom, just be strong." this one relates so personally to me and my mental illnesses that i fight everyday. some days, it is hard to stand up and be strong and believe that it will get better. the first time i heard this song, i totally started bawling. i felt like this song was for me and the struggles i've been struggling with for so long. this song is such an inspiration for people who are going through trials that are similar to mine. just. be. strong. and hold on.
4-work of art
this song falls in the 'inspirational' category as well. it talks about how even though we might not look like the girls on the cover of vogue or societys standard of perfect, we are a work of art and every one of us is a work of art. every freckle, every scar, is a work of art. somebody on youtube said they think this is "gold" 2.0, and i 100% agree.
5-fallin in love
this song totally gives me a the 1975 kinda vibe. like, i can totally see matty healy singing this song. it also has a total 80's vibe, which is also right up the 1975's alley (i totally want the 1975 to cover this song, if you can't tell). this song falls in the 'love' category. "i just want to keep on falling in love with you". it is a song that makes you want to get up and start dancing and singing along.
6-be the change
this is a song that britt's been preforming live for the past year and i've been obsessed with, but i was so excited to hear the studio version, and it totally exceeded my expectations!! this song falls in the 'christian' category. this song is about being the change the world needs. being there for the broken, the lost, and everyone in between. i think it is a "the lost get found" 2.0. it has a very similar message.
7-all day
this one falls in the 'mother' category. this is totally about ella and aj. they have a part in the beginning and the end where they are laughing and playing in the water (might be the bathtub, might be the pool, who knows), aj says momma, ella says "i love you mamma" and britt says "i love you ella, i love you aj!" it talks about the struggles that come with being a working mother. "i don't wanna miss nothin', i don't wanna miss one scar, one cry". it is a very touching song. you can feel how much she cares and loves her children in this song. she also talks about how god is with her babies when she can't be, which i thought was super cool. i hope to hear more songs about her life as a mother as life goes on. maybe even more kids later on? we'll see.
8-pave
britt said that this song is for josh, but i think it goes for her whole family as well. ella also has a part in the beginning of this song as well, where she says "lets go to the mountain". one of the lyrics in this song is "if you want to jump from the top of the waterfall, climb up the mountain just to hear the call, swinging from the jungle, running for tomorrow, anywhere you want to go, i can pave the road" this song is about adventure, travel, and staying together. anywhere you want to go, i can pave the road. i will be by your side through thick and thin. this is another song that i hope i can relate to in my future relationship someday.
9-no filter
i'll be quite honest, this song isn't my favorite one on the album. this is one of my least favorites on the album. this one i feel falls into the 'love' category or possibly the 'inspiration' category, but i'm not sure which. it talks about puting on a mask, and not showing the person we really are. it also talks about how we should remove the 'filter' and be who we really are. the lyrics to this song really confuse me and don't make clear sense to me. i feel like she's saying to put on a mask, or a 'filter' persay. i'm not quite sure about this one. we all have our least favorites, and this is one of mine.
10-girls night out
this one falls in the 'friend' category. it is so upbeat and fun! it talks about having a fun night with your girlfriends, and 'no boys are allowed'. everybody totally needs a night out with their girlfriends every once-in-a-while. i love the "burger shack" part. it totally shows what a night out with your girlfriends is really, truely, about.
11-after you
this is another one of my favorite ones!! this is another one that falls in the 'love' or 'christian' category, it totally works for either. "i'm not after the world, i'm after you". this song talks about how this person has been there through every step in her life. while she was finding who she truly is. i love this song because it is what i'm going through right now. i'm finding who i truly am and want to be. all i know is i'm not after the world.
12-concrete
this song is again, one of those that can fall in either the 'love' or 'christian' category. "you and me are concrete". this song is about love being solid like concrete, like britt said in the song. "when we are in too deep, we're solid like concrete". it is a really good, highbeat song and i love it!!
13-heart of stone
this is the song i was the most excited for!! she also preformed this one live on her last tour! i loved it then, but i love it even more now. britt does a pretty cool rap part that i was not expecting at all. who knew she could lay down some killer beats?! this song is a super high-energy beat song with very inspirational beats. i am a dancer, and i am soooo dying to choreograph a hip-hop routine to this song!! maybe i'll post a video when its done.
14-electric love
i listened to this song once, and i didn't like it at all! i was very disapointed with this song. i'm not a huge fan of the "electric love" part over and over again. this is the only song on this album (besides no filter) that i honestly didn't like!! maybe i'll warm up to it later on. who knows.

thank you for reading my review today! i hope you find this helpful and useful! if you want to check out more britt nicole and the album, check out the links above!!
until mext friday!!

review / covergirl ready, set, gorgeousfoundation, concealer, andpowder!

hi everyone!! i've been a slacker at posting lately. i moved a month ago and school started on the 11th for me. so life's been super crazy. thank goodness for a 3 day weekend!! i'll have tons of time to pre-write posts for the blog!! i'm trying to be tons more active on my social media's as well. so check them out on the sidebar ----->. now, onto the review!!

i have heard so many people talk about this foundation/concelealer/powder duo for a while. my favorite drugstore foundations are the revlon colorstay and the covergirl stay fabulous, which are both $10 a bottle, and this was only $6. i worried about how it would do, because of the huge price difference, so i went onto influenster and asked a question about it.
and i had amazing responses that made me want to go out and get it asap

(if you want to know more about influenster, check out my last blog post.)

i told myself i couldn't buy it and try it until i finish up my bottle of foundation, because i didn't want to waste $10 to just go out and buy a different foundation, so that's what i did. i recently ran out and got this one. (along with the concealer and powder because i was out of those too). the first thing i noticed while trying it is that on the bottle, it says "oil free foundation". when i squeezed it on my hand, i noticed around the little circle of foundation there was a ring of oil. (i tried to get a picture but it didn't happen again after that.) i ignored it and put it on my face anyway. i didn't notice any oil on my face. i did notice that the shade i got (which is the lightest, 105 to be exact) was super dark. i was a little disapointed until i put the concealer on and it was super light (also 105). i now mix a little bit of the concealer in with the foundation so it more suits my color more. the foundation coverage isn't the best unless you build it up. it also tends to wear off after 4 hours (even when i use primer) which i can't stand.
RATE / 7/10
WOULD I REPURCHASE? / MAYBE

the concealer is amazing! it is easy to blend and it covers everything. it isn't cakey and it doesn't crease. the color matches my skin tone absolutely perfect! by far, on my top 3 favorite drugstore concealer!
RATE / 10/10
WOULD I REPURCHASE? / YES

i only ever use translucent powder, so when i found out that there is no translucent powder in this line, i was quite upset. i got the lightest color they had, and it is too dark! #paleproblems. besides that, the powder is great. it sets your makeup, i haven't noticed any creasing yet, but i have noticed oil. not my favorite powder, but it'll do
RATE / 8/10
WOULD I REPURCHASE? / MAYBE

thank you guys for reading my post and dealing w/ me being a slacker!! i love you all tons, and i promise i'll be on top of the blog from now on. (well, i can't really promise, but i will try my hardest 😃) i would love to have a blog post up every day this week to make up, but i'm not sure how well that's gonna go 😭. hopefully well!

so hopefully you will all here from me tomorrow!! until then...

tresemmé beauty-full volume pre-wash conditioner and shampoo REVIEW! +influenster review

hi everyone! today i am going to review influenster and the new tresemmé shampoo and conditioner. please leave a comment or share it with your friends if you enjoyed!

if you don't know what influenster is, it is a site where you can review products, ask and answer questions, and post pictures of your favorite (or least favorite) products. influenster also sends you products for free based on things you positively reviewed, your snaps (mini questionaires), surveys sent to your email, and your social media count. the only thing that they ask you to do when sending you products is to try them and review them. i first heard about this from eleventh gorgeous, and i thought it was a scam. i thought they got your credit card information and charged you for the products they sent you. that is NOT true at all! they don't even ask for your credit information. they send you real products solemnly for testing purposes. and there is no charge for being an influenster. is it completely free to join and the products are free! you can get special brand vox boxes (for example - i got the tresemmé one that had the new shampoo and conditioner in it, they had a maybelline one recently that had two lipsticks) or you can get normal vox boxes, that are a lot like ipsy and birchbox boxes, where they have miscellaneous products. both are super cool and fun to get! i have had nothing but a positive experience with influenster and i recommend it to all of you. it is so easy, and so much fun to recieve and try out products. if you want to sign up for influenster, click the link right here -- https://www.influenster.com/r/1809496?utm_campaign=sum
rate / 10/10

now, onto the tresemmé part of the post!
influenster sent me the tresemmé vox box, which included the new shampoo and conditioner called the "tresemmé beauty-full volume pre-wash conditioner and shampoo". this shampoo and conditioner is a reverse routine, meaning you use the conditioner first to soften your hair, and the shampoo second to clean and wash away weight. when i first heard i was recieving this product and looked more into it, i was very sceptical. i wasn't sure if it was going to work at all. i tried it last night, and i can already tell a difference in my hair. it has more volume in it than it has since i started bleaching it. i was very amazed with this product and i plan on purchasing it again after i finish what i have.
rate / 10/10

i hope you guys enjoyed reading my "2 in 1" blogpost! please let me know if you try out influenster or the shampoo and conditioner through social media (side bar over here ---->), email (candireviewsblog@gmail.com), or leaving a comment below.

NOTE-- i recieved this product free  from influenster for testing and reviewing purposes, but all opinions are my own.

until next time!
